tl;dr: Next meetup 7/30 @ New City Brewery, busy summer updates
Hi All!
Our next meetup is at New City Brewery on Tues 7/30 from 6-9. Right now the weather is looking a little damp that day, so I expect we’ll be inside, but that won’t change the great conversation and imaginative ideas about the future of MakeFixHack that I’m sure will come up. If you haven’t joined us at the Brewery before, it’s around the back side of the mill complex at the end near the rotary with plenty of parking and bike trail access. They don’t serve food on Tuesdays, unfortunately, but there are a number of tasty restaurants nearby to bring takeout from if you plan on being hungry. We don’t have official workspace there, so we mostly just talk, but sometimes some small tinkering does happen too.
Somehow it’s almost August already, but we’ve been hard at work on many different sides of this MakeFixHack adventure. From our search for a permanent location and our 501c3 application, to getting inspired at a hacker conference and making connections with other hacker/makerspaces, as well as planning for upcoming events and working on the website redesign, we’ve definitely been busy. Keep an eye out for themed Talk and Tinker nights, new workshops, and other exciting updates in upcoming newsletters.
