tl;dr: Sashiko recap, next meetup 5/7 @ New City Brewery, 5/14 Locksport, getting ready for Chaos
Hi All!
We had a great Visible Mending/Sashiko workshop this past Tuesday despite the added chaos of an unexpected anniversary event taking place in the rest of the co-op. We did get more than a few curious onlookers, and everyone who participated took home a new skill and a sample to practice on. Keep an eye out for more of these mending & repair themed events in the future.
Our next meetup is at New City Brewery from 6-8ish on Tuesday 5/7. As usual for meetups there, this is a casual social/planning get together and everyone is welcome to join us. If you haven’t joined us there before, it’s on the back side of the mill building, right by the bike trail. They don’t serve food, but you’re welcome to bring your own or grab something nearby. The following week (5/14) is a return of Talk & Tinker Intro to Locksport, and there will be more details about that and future events coming in the next email.
We’re planning our booth for Easthampton’s Cottage Street Cultural Chaos street fair, coming up on Saturday June 8th. We’ll have projects to show off, flyers to give out, and a hands-on craft to share with the community, so if you’re interested in getting involved, come join us at our table for a bit and help share the excitement for what we’re building.
Be safe and keep making things!
