tl;dr: Next Meetup Tuesday 3/19 @ 6:00pm at New City Brewery, new survey is live
Hi All!
Our next meetup is on Tuesday 3/19 from 6-8ish pm at New City Brewery. This is a casual, mostly-talk meetup, but there is wifi if you wanted to bring along a laptop or other device. And if you haven’t been to New City before, just a heads up that they don’t serve food (except the occasional free popcorn when the machine is running), but you’re welcome to bring your own snacks, dinner, takeout. Hope to see you there! If you have an idea for a theme or topic for a future Talk & Tinker or other event, please let us know! The theme nights we’ve done so far have been very popular, have brought out lots of new people, and are always fun!
Our new survey is still up at https://makefixhack.org/p/survey.html. Thanks to everyone who has already filled it out and everyone who is about to do it. It’s just a few questions about what you’re looking/hoping for in a makerspace and will help guide us as we take next big steps and prepare to open a space of our very own. Please take a moment to share your thoughts and feel free to share the link with anyone else you think would be interested and anywhere you think like-minded people might see it. And if you’re into hanging up paper flyers, you can pick some up at the next meetup to help spread the word!
If you haven’t joined us on Discord yet, but are looking for a way to communicate with other members of our growing maker community, as well as all sorts of other interesting people in our area, you can connect here: https://discord.com/invite/v8BZxdfz There are channels for everything from native plants to alternative transportation, local events and town politics, as well as making, crafting, repair, and so much more. Just remember to stop into #introductions to say hi and help everyone get to know you.
Be safe and keep making things!
Bill C.
