tl;dr: Next Talk & Tinker Meetup 9/12 @ Easthampton River Valley Co-op from 6-9, September meetup dates/locations, looking for people & ideas for P.V. Maker Faire booth on 10/14
Hi all,
The next Talk & Tinker night at the Easthampton River Valley Co-op is Tuesday 9/12 from 6-9 pm! This meetup will be a general Talk & Tinker, so feel free to bring whatever you might be working on or just come to hang out. I’m debating between using this next meetup to reinstall Arch Linux on my laptop, or to work on converting an old hard drive into a grinding wheel.
We’re having two Talk & Tinker meetups this month at the River Valley Co-op (this Tues 9/12 & Tues 9/26) As an alternate location, New City Brewery seems like a viable option for the "Talk" side of things, at least, though I still need to check if they’d be ok with us taking things apart or bringing projects in. They do have WiFi, however, so laptops shouldn’t be an issue. They’re also BYO food, which is helpful for those of us used to grabbing dinner during the meetups. So we’ll be meeting there on 9/19 from 6-9 pm with a focus on planning for the Maker Faire, the results of this summer’s member survey, and what steps we need to take to bring MakeFixHack to the next level. The search also continues for a full-time home for MakeFixHack to grow into, so if anyone has any leads, please let me know.
The Pioneer Valley Maker Faire is just about a month away on Saturday October 14th and we’re looking for a few people to help out in the booth and ideas for projects to share to show off what we are all about. If you’re interested in helping or have ideas to share, please get in touch!
