Hi All!
This week’s special Homemade Music theme for Talk & Tinker Tuesday was a great success! A number of canjos were successfully built with a variety of creative modifications, a mini washtub-style bass was electrified, and all sorts of traditional and experimental sounds were heard. We’ll definitely be having this theme again in the future, but if you didn’t make it and still want to build your own canjo, we still have some supplies and instructions available next time you’re in for a members night or Talk & Tinker. We’re also planning for some other exciting themes soon too, including locksport, taking stuff apart, 3d printing basics, something to do with radio, and maybe more! Do you have an idea for a theme you’d like to attend, or have some knowledge that you’d like to share? let us know!
This Saturday MakeFixHack is sending a couple "fixperts" to help out at the Northampton Community RePair event at Smith Vocational HS from 12-4. This is a great, free event put on by Northampton Repair and Reuse to help the local community fix and reuse all sorts of things that might otherwise be thrown out. Local handy people will be there to try their best to fix anything from clothes to computers, bikes to furniture, and more!
