Hi all!
Happy Summer! How is it summer already? We’ve definitely had some hot days this week, but the space has stayed fairly comfortable, thanks to being in the basement and a few well placed fans. So come on out for Mending Monday on 6/30 and our regular Talk & Tinker Tuesday, and Thursday & Saturday Member hours. Then on 7/8 we’ll have an all things radio mini-themed Talk & Tinker. Shortwave receivers, ham, RC stuff, Meshtastic, RTL-SDR, maybe some friendly WiFi and Bluetooth shenanigans. If it has an antenna, bring it along. Is calling it "MakeFixAck" to cheesy?
Also in July we’ll be having an Ethical Hacking workshop where you can learn about Kali Linux, fundamental tools of the trade, how to stay safe and legal, and more. Members, keep an eye out for advanced signup details coming soon. We’ll also have a beginner soldering workshop later in the month, and more exciting ideas are in the works! More information on the Ethical Hacking and other workshops coming soon, but space will be limited and members get early access to registration, which is another great reason to join today!
We have a laser cutter now! Its an xTool S1 with a 40 watt Diode laser and a 2 watt Infrared laser that can be swapped in, a 498mm x 319mm working area, a riser base with pass-through doors, and a rotary attachment to handle round and curved objects. We’ve still got some work to do finishing up the install and testing, but we’re really excited to see what our members will make with it!
