Hi All!
Our next meetup is Tuesday 5/28 - Talk & Tinker with Homemade Musical Instruments at the Easthampton River Valley Co-op from 6-9. Have you ever made your own musical instrument? Want to learn what’s involved? Come see an assortment of homemade instrument and discuss the different approaches to putting one together on your own. Our definition of "musical instrument" is extremely broad, so whether you’ve made a finely crafted folk instrument or a cigar box guitar, circuit bent a synthesizer or plugged a speaker into a stepper motor, come share your creation. Home repaired instruments are included too. All musical creations and skill levels are welcome. There might even be a spontaneous jam session at some point, you never know what could happen.
Saturday June 8th is the annual Cottage Street Cultural Chaos street fair in Easthampton. We’ll have a tent & table there to promote our events and our goal of opening a community makerspace. We’ll have flyers, stickers, and other swag to give out, solderless circuit kits to make or take home, gadgets to show off, and even some lockpicking! We still have a couple extra chairs at the table so sign up here to come share the excitement! The fair runs from 12-5 so we could use a hand anytime from 10-6. And even if you can’t spend some time behind the table, stop by and say "hi" anyway as you check out the rest of this great event.
