tl;dr: Next meetup on 5/21 @ New City Brewery, Locksport success, upcoming events, signup for our table at Cultural Chaos
Hi All!
Our next meetup is another casual social/planning get together at New City Brewery on Tuesday 5/21 from 6-8ish. Right now the weather looks great for a relaxing evening out on the patio, so come out and join us!
This past Tuesday we had a great locksport/lockpicking meetup where we introduced several new people to this unique hobby and everyone successfully opened multiple locks using the tools and techniques we discussed. If you didn’t make it, no worries, this will definitely continue to be one of our regular events.
In two weeks (5/28) we’re back at River Valley Co-op with Home-Made Musical Instruments. More details to come next week, but our definition of "musical instrument" is extremely broad and no performance skill is expected or required, so if you’ve made something that makes noise, bring it along. Following that, we’ll be having a casual meetup at the brewery on 6/4 and the return of a general "Talk & Tinker" night at the co-op on 6/11. Stay tuned to these newsletters, our webpage our Meetup group for all the details.
Saturday June 8th is the annual Cottage Street Cultural Chaos street fair in Easthampton. We’ll have a tent & table there to promote our events and our goal of opening a community makerspace. We’ll have flyers, stickers, and other swag to give out, solderless circuit kits to make or take home, gadgets to show off, and even some lockpicking! We’ve got a couple extra chairs at the table so sign up here to come share the excitement! The fair runs from 12-5 so we could use a hand anytime from 10-6. And even if you can’t spend some time behind the table, stop by and say "hi" anyway as you check out the rest of this great event.
