Hi All,
Spring is on it’s way and so is some exciting news! Our team working on the CNC router has made some great progress, with a wiring harness replaced, sensor issue resolved, and some successful tests performed. We’ve set up the open-source DocuSeal document system to more easily manage waivers and other paperwork, so next time you come in, we’ll have you take a quick moment to sign a new waiver through this system. And finally, we have a new clock in the space, which, once I finish the first stage of the LED upgrade, will be the subject of our first member challenge to take it to the next level. Details on that will be released soon, so stay tuned!
Open Hours - Saturday 3/8 from 3 - 6 pm - Weekly - This is basically what it sounds like, we’re open and you can come in to use the space. Bring a project to work on, peruse our supplies and tools to get an idea for a project, or just check out the space and chat for a bit. Since a variety of tools may be in use during this session, we do have safety glasses available to borrow if needed and there will be a waiver to sign upon entering. As we continue to grow and expand what we have to offer, we will be transitioning these Open Hours events to Member Hours, with a pay-what-you-can ($5 suggested) day pass to help cover the tools and supplies available to you.
Mending Monday 3/10 from 6 - 8 pm. Bi-weekly (approximately) - Fiber arts jam session. No specific theme this week, but bring out whatever fiber arts project you’re working on, something you’re looking to repair or alter, or just hang out with other fiber folks and get some new ideas. There’s lots of random fabric and supplies, a sewing machine, and more. Please arrive promptly so you’ll have plenty of time to work on your project.
Talk & Tinker Tuesday 3/11 from 6 - 9 pm. Weekly - This week is just a general session, so bring out a project, see what we have to inspire a new creation, or just hang out for a bit. We have a wide variety of hand tools, soldering irons, rotary tools, sewing supplies, electronic components, and lots more. If there’s something special you’re looking to use, or something you’d like specific help with, get in touch at this email or on Discord and we’ll do what we can to get you what you need. Since a variety of tools may be in use during this session, we do have safety glasses available to borrow if required and there will be a waiver to sign upon entering.
