Hi All!
Our next meetup is at New City Brewery on Tuesday 8/13 from 6-9 pm. Come on out for a casual meetup and chat about projects you’re working on, upcoming events, and the next steps for MakeFixHack. Sometimes we get up to some light tinkering, locksport, or other shenanigans too, depending on space and inspiration.
The following week we’re back at the co-op for a special soldering workshop on 8/20. We’ll be making LED spinning tops, which you may have seen on the gadget table at previous meetups. Whether you’re brand new and want to learn, or just want a little practice, join us for this fun and informative workshop. Space is limited, so contact us here or keep an eye out for the event on our meetup page next week if you want to reserve a spot.
And a little soldering practice is a great warm up for another event we’re planning: Halloween costume LED upgrade workshop. We’re still working out the details, but we’re aiming to do what it says on the tin and show you various ways to add LEDs to your costumes (or anything else). Stay tuned for more details!
If you have any ideas for an event you would like to see (or help host), let us know. We’re always looking for new ideas and new skills to share. Also, if you have any interest in helping a bit with some of the organizational parts of this group like social media, planning for opening the space (once we have it), managing possible equipment loans/donations, or any other skill you’d like to share, there might be a committee for you to join.
