tl;dr: Next Meetup on 4/9 @ New City Brewery, Take it Apart Tuesday on 4/16, Seed & Houseplant Swap 4/24, email changes

Hi all!

Our next meetup is Tuesday 4/9 at New City Brewery from 6-8. This is a casual meetup to get together and talk about projects we’re working on, share ideas, and discuss plans for the future of MakeFixHack, so come on out and join us.
The following week on 4/16 we’re back at River Valley Co-op from 6-9 for Take it Apart Tuesday a.k.a. What’s Inside This Thing Anyway? This is a family-friendly, hands-on, interactive session where we’ll explore the whys and hows of taking things apart in a safe and (mostly) non-destructively manner. It’s spring break week for many of the area schools, so bring your kids out and take some things apart together. Don’t have kids to bring? That’s fine too, it’s fun for all ages! If you have something you want to peek inside of, bring it along, but we’ll have lots of old hard drives to take apart too! Broken electronic or mechanical toys, small appliances, retired DVD players and the like are all great things to bring along. Old tube TVs, microwaves, grandfather’s pocket watch, and family heirlooms should be left alone, however. Check out the Meetup page for more information.

After that, on Wednesday 4/24 we’ll be hosting a Seed & Houseplant Swap at Forbes Library in Northampton and Visible Mending at the Co-op on 4/30. May will bring the return of Lockpicking and Home Made Musical Instrument events as well as lots more, so stay tuned to these newsletters, the calendar on our web page, our Meetup page, or our increasingly active social media accounts. And if you have a suggestion for an event or theme you would like to see (or even help host) let us know, we’re always looking for new and exciting ideas to share with the community.

You may have missed last weeks newsletter, or found it in your spam folder, and we apologize for that. We’re switching around some of our infrastructure to make everything more professional and easy to manage (ask me about the hack I was using to make the email work at a meetup sometime), but a slight misconfiguration landed a number of the newsletters in spam. If you’re reading this now, that means everything is sorted out again and we’re once again in Google’s good graces.
